RIFLE RANGE

CVWC Rifle Range gives the shooter target placements at 7, 25, 50, 100, 200 and 300 yards. A majority of the firing positions are under roof for all weather shooting. There a select few positions not under cover for those who may wish to do prone shooting or just prefer to shoot out of a covered area. There are three sections with firing positions. One has concrete bench rests that are open air positions. The center of the range house is completely enclosed with concrete bench rests and the final area is equipped with very sturdy free standing shooter benches. A handgun position rounds out the range house on one end with a very nice concrete bench from which to stage your shooting activities.

Each section of the range house is designed to support different areas on the rifle range. The range is equipped with electricity and safety lighting system with an audible alarm when range activities are taking place.

CVWC also sponsors a Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) on the second Saturday of each month. These matches are conducted using U.S. battle rifles such as the M1 Garand, 1903-A3 Springfield and M1 Carbines. Modern military rifle matches are also conducted using the popular AR platform and others. Matches are conducted from the 100, 200 and 300 yard target berms depending on which match is being conducted. Format does vary from month to month. Any of our CMP shooters can provide more detail if interested.
