WOBBLE TRAP
|
Wobble Trap is a fairly new and exciting shotgun sport. Five shooting stations are provided on different elevations. Each shooter is allowed five shots from each station. The trap is located underneath the third, or center and tallest, station. It is stationary, but oscillates on both horizontal and vertical axes. Hence the name "Wobble."
The shooter calls for the clay to be thrown and it could come from the trap at any angle. After five shots from five stations, the game is over. A perfect score would be 25. Wobble Trap shooting has become one of the fastest and most exciting shotgun sports and can be enjoyed by the entire family. Normally, one person "pulls" (fires the trap machine) while the others shoot. Tight chokes are required for longer distances and most shooters use double barrel side-by-side or over-and-under shotguns or semi-automatic shotguns. The preferred shot size is 7½. No shot larger than 7 ½ is permitted on any shotgun range at CVWC. Shot sizes of 7 ½, 8 and 9 are welcome. Steel shot is not permitted at CVWC on any shotgun range. Additionally, five stand is now available on the Wobble Trap range with the inclusion of additional clay throwers on either side of the range, the schedule for which can be found on the home page. |
